Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student is banned.
Chrome Mox is unbanned and in the watch list.
Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student, although one of the top decks, has also emerged as the leading option for control decks, diminishing variety and resulting in a subpar gameplay experience.
Moreover, its unique structure, being a control deck led by a one-mana commander, creates gameplay patterns where having a turn-one removal is a necessity, reducing the strategic interest of games as well as deckbuilding options, while forcing every deck to play a certain density of such interactions.
Chrome Mox has been banned in EDHR since the format was first introduced as a 1v1 commander format. Many people consider it to be an obscenely powerful card, and it should never be unbanned.
Functionally speaking, Chrome Mox is similar to the evoke elementals from MH2, in that it requires you to exile a card from your hand to play it. For this card to be of any use, you need to exile a castable card first. You cannot exile an artifact or a land. While you can exile a colorless card, doing so is pointless because Chrome Mox won't be able to tap for anything. This puts a very hefty cost to this otherwise free spell.
When Chrome Mox gets unbanned, there will be initial panic, but people will soon see it's not as powerful as remembered. It will be played but not broken.
